SOG design Telok Ayer Office: A Purpose-Built Creative Environment
The new SOG design Telok Ayer Office offers the team a distinctive opportunity to create a space that embodies our client-centred approach: unique, people-focused, resilient, and innovative.
Situated in the vibrant CBD area, this workspace captures our studio’s identity and supports the creative energy of our multidisciplinary team.
Achieving Functionality and Aesthetics
The design strikes a balance between functional performance and aesthetic intent, resulting in a light-filled, future-ready office that resonates with our ethos.

We adopted a dynamic, open-concept layout that incorporates our brand identity. Key areas, boardrooms, directors’ offices, and collaborative zones are arranged to promote transparency while maintaining focus. A 3-metre buffer zone between the main office and meeting rooms creates a calm transition between team space and client-facing areas.
The use of modular, reconfigurable furniture helps adapt to future needs. A design datum at 2.4 metres allows for seamless full-height laminate panels, reducing visual clutter and waste. The surrounding light cove unifies the vertical space and supports our commitment to sustainability.
An Interior That Reflects Who We Are

The design draws from a restrained palette of natural materials and subtle tones, invoking a sense of calm and focus throughout the studio.
Inspired by the textures and colours of nature, the interior weaves greenery into the workspace to enhance well-being, while clean lines and thoughtfully detailed surfaces reflect the discipline and rigour we bring to every project.
The open layout is intentionally fluid, maximising daylight penetration and encouraging cross-team interaction, fostering a shared energy that mirrors the way we work.
This spatial openness is anchored by carefully articulated elements that carry both visual and conceptual weight. A key gesture is the sculptural lighting feature that connects the entrance, communal pantry, and casual meeting zones.

Designed by lighting specialists Vibia, the Plusminus lighting system uses a flexible terracotta-hued fabric belt that conducts electricity, eliminating the need for visible wiring. The belt becomes a unifying line, threading through the space with a continuous, intuitive rhythm, casting both light and meaning. It embodies our belief in detail-driven innovation, where even utility becomes a form of design.
Sustainability is embedded in the layout and material thinking. Full-height laminate panels were used efficiently to reduce joint lines and minimise material wastage. The central light cove, set at 2.4 metres, defines a visual datum while also reducing the need for excessive fittings.
Natural light floods the workspace, reducing reliance on artificial lighting, while indoor plants and adaptable zones promote comfort and well-being.

A Creative Environment with A Recognisable SOG Identity
The completed SOG design Telok Ayer Office resulted in a creative engine that fosters well-being, curiosity, and collaboration. Purposefully designed by our Singapore interior design team, it stands as a high-performance environment for our team and a showcase for clients.
