The client’s aim was to create a resort concept for high end retreat experience, an integrated and respectful proposal merging naturally with the surroundings. The plot is located in the Lijiang River in the Guangxi province. With a setback of 10 m from the river waterfront the 43 suites are facing the river enjoying the quite ambient of the site.

We decided to follow the natural topography of the site and sinuous curves of the Lijiang River. Our intention is to blend the building with the natural landscape around.

A series of simple volumes are articulated following the flow of the river and creating a new waterfront. A series of swimming pool are located in the residual spaces and will get prime views to the waterfront the surrounding mountains.
