We invite you to Borén — a refuge in the Pyrenees, in dialogue with its surrounding nature.

This project is a rehabilitation hut in the small village of Borén, inspired by the Pyrenees. Dividing a square construction into two floors is a practical approach. The task is to modify the function and convert the hut into a living space.

It was vital to maximise the use of the ground floor. It must carry the minimum kitchen and hygienic equipment, as well as areas designated for eating, coexisting, reading, working, contemplating, resting, and sleeping.

The project’s challenge is to provide living conditions without sacrificing the aspects of the original construction: stone walls, beams, wooden slabs, wooden trusses on the roof, and slate tiles.

Our team in Barcelona proposes this refurbishment concept for Borén, which will contribute to the beautiful landscape of the Pyrenees surrounding it.
