Reimagining The Urban Landscape of Tabuk

Tabuk Central Park is a landscape concept design for a new urban intervention in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. It is a project aimed at redefining the quality of the public realm through thoughtful integration of architecture, landscape, and climate-responsive design.
This ambitious proposal presents new strategies to connect the two sides of the city, prioritising walkability, public comfort, and rich, human-scaled spaces that foster a more livable and inclusive urban environment.
A New Chapter in Tabuk
At the heart of the plan is the revitalisation of Central Park, a 190-hectare site, comparable in scale to London’s Hyde Park, that currently remains underutilised despite its strategic location.
Our design reimagines this central green space as a vibrant urban hub through a series of layered interventions that blend ecological sensitivity, public utility, and climatic adaptability.

Key interventions include:
- Shaded pedestrian walkways along the Wadi
- New pedestrian bridges to improve city-wide connectivity
- Green enclosures and recreational areas to foster local activity
- Lush green paths that activate the heart of the park and support biodiversity
These spaces are designed to serve as climatic shelters during the warmer months, encouraging outdoor engagement while enhancing comfort and accessibility.
Reviving Community Through Public Space
The overall landscape concept fosters a deeper connection between people and their environment, supporting social interaction, enhancing mobility, and reconnecting the city to its natural surroundings.
By weaving together landscape, urban planning, and small-scale architectural gestures, this concept lays the groundwork for a sustainable, people-centred future in Tabuk.
